When we arrived, the wait was noticeably longer than usual. We later learned that both the pizza chef and the sous-chef were out sick that day, and the waitstaff was all new. Essentially, the owners—a husband and wife team—were running the entire restaurant on their own. They were clearly overwhelmed, but they never stopped working, never stopped caring, and never lost their friendliness. Despite all these challenges, the food was outstanding and absolutely worth every minute of the wait. Towards the end of the evening, we had the opportunity to meet the owner and chat with her, which made the experience even more meaningful. Without us even asking, they generously treated us to two complimentary desserts and a round of drinks—far more than we ever expected. What really stood out wasn't just the food, but the heart and soul behind this place. Witnessing a family persevere through a challenging evening, yet still serving up amazing food and making their guests feel welcome and valued, reminded us why it's so important to support local, family-run businesses.
